review 1: I'm really starting to like serial novellas, I've read a few recently and this was a fantastic first instalment to the series. I adore Lilly, she's strong, smart and extremely determined to survive. I can't wait to see how she deals with her circumstances in the next book. At first I wasn't sure how to take the changing timelines but I actually really liked it by the end. Scarlett Edwards manages to show how Lilly's past shaped her current situation without relying on large info dumps. She tells the story gradually and I really liked the pacing.I'm definitely going to read the next part of this series, probably later today. I can't wait to see what happens next.
review 2: Great book but annoying that every book is so damn short....J.S. has kidnapped Lilly and h... moree's keeping her in his home, high on some cliff. She's trying hard to fight him, to stay sane and plan revenge but he's on to her...he's a monster with expectations who punishes and rapes and takes but then he can smile too...There is one kind face in that enormous house and her name is Rose...she has worked for Jeremy for 20 years.... less
