review 1: City of Owls is a great follow up to Court of Owls. While not as boundary pushing as Court of Owls, Snyder still introduces new concepts to the Batman universe and offers a new take on some familiar villains. Snyder does help flesh out the overall time line and gives us some great history of the Wayne family. I really enjoy where Snyder is taking Batman with the new 52 and I can't wait to read more.
review 2: Issue 10's "twist" or whatever was weak and made the conclusion to the Owls story kind of weak (#11). Issues #8 and #9 were great, as was #12, which introduces a new character named Harper Row which we see again in #18 (vol. 3). It's mostly a good collection, but probably better as a conclusion the the events in vol. 1. Not sure which volume will get is
... moresues #19 and #20 but they make up a nice little Clayface story. The Batman Annual features a Mr. Freeze story that is okay, but is a standalone story. less

Much more fun than the first book. And I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to the story.
