review 1: Scott Snyder wrote what is one of the best Batman stories I've ever read in The Black Mirror. His current run with Capullo isn't quite that good, but he's still the best Dark Knight author not named Miller. Zero Year is a lot of fun. The thing that always strikes me about everything Snyder does is how cinematic it feels. This story really feels like a movie, right from the opening frame. It's not the most original, deep, or thought-provoking Batman origin story you'll read. But it is truly blockbuster entertainment, and that's what Snyder and Capullo do best.

... morean is totally thrown on its head here. Gotham has been reclaimed by nature - I am in love with Greg Capullo - and Batman himself has a very different tack. I can only describe the colour as gorgeous. I don't even use that word, but it's the only thing i can think of right now. This is a very good superhero book. It achieves everything i would appreciate from a Batman title, of course it helps having years of history to bring life to the characters but Scott Snyder is using a great inventiveness to make even this age old cast seem fresh. less
