review 1: I enjoyed the mystery and suspense portion of this novel immensely. The author communicates from this 3rd party perspective amazingly well, which I love. I wish there was more of this. I didn't realize it was a trilogy so wasn't expecting the odd break off at the end. However, Im not sure I want to continue because although I found most of the characters interesting, the romance part felt overpowering and a bit cliche. Maybe Ive just read too many books and this sort of thing turns me off because its pretty obvious whats going to happen to Lena and King in the next two books. Maybe if I hit a reading lull, Id continue this series, but have no current plans.
review 2: If I could give 1/2 stars I would. This book is really more of a 4.5 but only because certain t... morehings were a little grating. I did not like the constant cursing. I don't mind cursing, but I feel like the author ran out of things to make the characters say. Otherwise, this was a very exciting romance to read. When I reached the end of the book, I screamed "What?!" because it ends on a huge cliffhanger. I already have books 2 and 3 on their way. less
