review 1: An elf is walking in the Nightside and that is never good news. Elves can’t be trusted, even when they lie. Now John Taylor has agreed to escort this elf across town. In exchange, the elf says he will let Taylor in on a secret: SOMETHING REALLY, REALLY BAD IS COMING TO THE NIGHTSIDE. Since something bad is always coming to the Nightside, Taylor is not very impressed but agrees anyway. He soon has Walker and all his minions hot on his trail. To make matters worse, Larry Oblivion has just popped up and wants Taylor to help him find his brother, Tommy, who was lost and presumed dead during the Lillith War. It’s enough to drive a sane man mad, and no one is ever too sane in the Nightside!
review 2: In the last few books I've found the structure a bit odd. First
... more is a case that is basically a self contained short story. Usually without minimal connection to the next portion of the book. I've been trying to figure it out, but haven't had any great insight.Otherwise, the heart of the story is two relationships - Walker and Taylor, and Larry and Tommy. Very interesting counterpoints in what Walker wants and what Larry wants. less

It's still a fun read, it's entertainting, better than vol. 12 The Bride Wore Black.
