review 1: Wow. Just wow. I loved this book. It's gripping from the very beginning. I think it's the first book that genuinely creeped me out. I don't scare easy. Not only that, but it is a real mind player. The story has you constantly thinking, working out details in your head to try and come to your own conclusion. I swear, three-quarters of the way through, I had already suspected everyone in Heptonclough. It really was a brilliant read.
review 2: I love all SJ Bolton's books. This one is another one with a damaged heroine who is faced with mysterious murders. She is a psychiatrist (family issue specialist) recovering from a bad accident which left one leg weakened and painful. ... morewith 3 small children builds a large house near the old church. An infant dies in a fire, leaving the mother distraught, being treated by the psychiatrist. The story is fascinating - I read it in a day and a half. less

I don't generally read murder mysteries but this one was fun, well written and even a bit scary.
