review 1: Wow! Very "Children of the Corn." Super creepy, great characters, and I especially loved the children's participation in the story. I did figure out who the "bad guy" had to be rather early in the story, simply because of a suspicious lack of explanation about certain people, but she did enough to make me doubt myself later on, so it was still thoroughly enjoyable. I'm going to keep going on Bolton books!
review 2: I'm currently catching up on all her books. This one is probably one of my favorites of her books. The books that aren't part of the Lacey Flint series are stand-alone books and usually take place on English/Welsh Moors. There is nothing creepier for a setting. It makes me think of Wuthering Heights; but it's still a great setting for creating anxiet
... morey and dread in a horror book. This book in particular was VERY VERY dark. The last few chapters were so gripping and so crazy I couldn't put the book down. less
