review 1: Totally hilarious! Takes place in Kansas in areas near where I live in Ok so it's cool to see places mentioned I actually recognize. I don't know if it's realistic with the "Kansas Mafia" but then i'm not sure if it's supposed to be. I love that she's totally an S&M vigilante savior with a crush on a cop and the other charactors are a bunch of laughs. The serious side deals with spousal abuse (the reason she's a vigilante warrior in her 50's).
review 2: Stella is definitely a woman on a mission. After she dispatches her own abusive husband to whatever afterlife he was fated for, she begins to help women who are in similar straits but lack Stella's ability to retrain their husbands' behavior to more acceptable standards. But even Stella is in over her head whe... moren Chrissy's son is kidnapped. It seems that Chrissy's ex has tentative ties to the mob, and what the mob wants, they get, and who they don't need, they get rid of. Stella puts herself in harm's way to rescue the child. Skating around the law - despite being more than a little in love with the sheriff, Stella has no problem justifying what she does. The story is gripping but graphic, both in language and violence. Still, you have to like Stella and what she stands for, even if you don't agree with her methods. less
