review 1: And the story continues, of Cass, recovering alcoholic, recovering slut and recovering zombie . . . Gotta say, this book was much better than the previous one. Cass isn't exactly a likable human being. She kinda reminds me of Tara's mom from True Blood (she has a demon in her!). Her self-hatred and self-destructive tendencies are a little extreme. The only thing keeping her functioning like a normal human being is her daughter. Smoke is an idiot and I think Cass should move on. Dor is hot and should definitely be what Cass moves on to. The plot was more interesting in this book and the author toned down on the descriptions. There were old memories and self-reflection thrown in here and there, but not so much that it bored me. It was also nice to get other characters' ... morepovs.
review 2: L'avevo preannunciato e così è stato! Questo capitolo è stato molto più interessante del precedente :) Tralasciamo il fatto che l'ambientazione non mi piace affatto - quindi ho saltato un bel po' - sono stata irrimediabilmente rapita dal 'nuovo' (l'avevamo già visto nel precedente, all'arrivo di Cass e Smoke alla Scatola) personaggio maschile: il super sexy e super virile Dor. In questo libro quel co*****e di Smoke (scusate, ma quando ci vuole, ci vuole :angry: ) è partito alla volta di Colima per vendicare la morte di Nora - la tipa che si sbatteva ogni tanto prima di incontrare Cass. Ovviamente a Colima c'era anche Sammi, la figlia di Dor, quindi Cass prende Ruthie e si aggregano al grande capo, perché per loro non c'è più nulla alla Scatola. Il rapporto amore/odio tra Cass e Dor è molto più intenso di quello con Smoke, anche se la signora sostiene il contrario -_- Fatto sta che due ripassate 'Dor Style' se le fa dare molto volentieri :shifty: Poi naturalmente Cass ritrova Smoke e il povero Dor, grandissimo uomo tutto d'un pezzo, deve farsi da parte :angry: Ma spero caldamente che per il gran finale ci sia un colpo di scena e Cass scelga lui :woot: less
