The Cynster Sisters Trilogy
review 1: Perhaps I just like a female point of view, but I enjoyed this, the first in the Cynster sister series much more than the Bar Cynster books. Heather is 25 and has been holding out for a hero. She sneaks out to a party and is spotted by a friend of the family- Breckenridge who forces her to leave. As he watches her head to the carriage she is abducted. Thus starts a strange courtship and relationship as he follows Heather through Scotland to discover who is behind the kidnapping. Heather doesn't have a shy bone in her body and with her reputation ruined she plans to care for orphaned children. She decides that she might as well get some experience from the ton's lothario while she is kidnapped. Meeting each night while her captors are unaware she and Breckenridge plo... moret her escape and strategy as they try to discover who the Scottish laird that masterminded the kindapping is and what is his reasoning. I enjoyed Catriona and Richard playing a role in the romance , but the ending was a bit too argumentative withthe usual Cynster male afraid to voice his feelings. Both characters were likeable and challenged each other . The hints of the laird's story are intriguing.
review 2: The oldest of three sisters, an heiress, is almost on the shelf. Heather hatches a plan to attend a racy house party under the noses of her overprotective male relatives. The plan succeeds, but she is kidnapped from the party. An older family friend, the Viscount of the title, sees her being carried out and sets after her to rescue her.Of the two of them unchaperoned? Marriage is the cards.I used to like Stephanie Laurens, but I was totally bored by this. I slogged through just because I almost always finish a book. The story was predictable and the pages-long love scenes were interminable — I have to admit I skipped these pages of overflown prose.I have the next in the series and if its in the same vein am not looking forward to it. less
