review 1: OMG OMG OMG. words cannot explain how much i absolutely love love love this book!i knew right off the bat that i would like this book but even i did not envision that i would be this invested in the characters of the book. i am in tears and OMG it is just so totally amazing and i cant explain how i'm feeling right now because its like i am still emotionally crushed but at the same time revived and my head is spinning with hundreds of thousands of ideas and its 1am and i don't care and it truly is an amazing book. i am at a loss for words. i feel like i really like this book because i can relate to it, but at the same time because isla and josh are just such amazingly crafted characters that they just jump off the page. unlike the first two books, i feel like this is the on... moree that is just so real and honest and that makes me love it the most. they had to go through the most challenges and that's what made their love so precious. i am hard hit by isla telling josh that she waas just a placeholder in his life because i feel like a lot of people tend to fall into relationships in the premise of they are lonely and the other person is just there. in a lot of cases this ends horribly and i applaud isla for having the courage to make difficult decisions even if they were wrong. if they hadn't broken up, she would not have found herself and she would not have decided on her future for herself. she would grow to resent josh in the future if she hadn't followed her heart to dartmouth but instead followed him there.in the end, it was a bloody amazing book and i just can't wait to recommend it to everyone.
review 2: A really sweet if overly melodramatic love story. Then again, teenagers do tend to make everything more extreme then it needs to be, so I suppose it's actually fairly accurate. Isla drove me slightly crazy, but I adored Josh. I never react well to insanely-insecure girl leads, but I appreciated her growth and change by the end. I loved Kurt, but was hoping Perkins would pay more attention to him, so that was disappointing. I also really loved that the most important characters from the last two books were included. AND (a spoilers omitted) I was thrilled with the satisfying way that Perkins closed both of her first two circles, along with the third. Long story short, if you enjoyed the first two books as much as I did, then you'll love this one too. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this author does in the future. less
