review 1: Ok I admit the story is wearing a bit thin with the aging/ancient sniper who still has catlike reflexes. For some reason I can't seem them down. If you read this far into the series read them fast and back to back so you don't lose the momentum and have time to figure out just how lame the story line has gotten. I gave it four starts because of personal weakness for the marine sniper thing and because the writing style is very readable but the story is thin.
review 2: Ah, Bob the Nailer. Love this character. Love the stories, including this one. That said, Bob Lee Swagger is even more cartoonish in this escapade, enduring waterboarding with almost superhuman endurance and taking on a billionaire and his posse of assassins nearly singlehandedly, all while being
... more old enough to enjoy the Early-Bird Special at Norms. The only actor that can play Bob the Nailer at this juncture would be Clint Eastwood, empty chair and all. I'm thinking that this has to be the last adventure of Bob; unless readers really want to check their credulity at the title page. less

Takes some fun shots at D.C. and the NY Times. Pretty good villains. And Ted Turner!

Stephen Hunter does it again. All I can say is..."Job well done Mr. Hunter".
