review 1: Read this over the weekend and had a good time reading it. It flowed well and was interesting. I did love the description of the amusement park and the characters. I never would have guessed who the murderer was - throughout he seemed like a good guy! The characters were believable. Devin exhibited great responsibility and moral character throughout. This was not a scary book, but some parts gave you chills.
review 2: I had just finished my sophomore year at Elon (then) College (now University) in North Carolina the summer of '73. That's what first drew me to this book. King vividly paints the setting, both time and place. He so captures the feel of a small town amusement park that I could hear the ocean and smell the popcorn! He's a master storyteller.
