review 1: As always, I find Stormie Omartian's books both inspirational and humbling. They always inspire me to do more, to pray more and read the Bible more, and I feel humbled by the example of such a prayerful woman, scared by all the things I hadn't thought about, and then very glad that I can leave God in control. My own little prayers seem quite small and vague in comparison, so I was very glad to see the thorough and Biblical prayers she included in each chapter. Some may seem repetitious, especially if you treat this as a reading book rather than a pondering book (I'm reading *at most* 2 chapters a day) but they are things that bear repeating, and certainly childhood has a tendency to repeat the same problems in different forms. She often gives examples of problems and r... moreesolutions from her own parenting experience, and this is helpful in seeing how things may play out, and how to respond with grace and wisdom rather than reacting in the heat of the moment.In short, I liked the ARC so much that I've already preordered a copy and intend to copy out the prayers on index cards to make it easier for us both to pray them as often as we feel the need.Disclaimer: I received a free ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Later edit: I'm very glad I bought a copy too. Although normally I love ebooks, there's so much in here that I want to use later, I found it a lot easier to work with the DTF. I read through it with my husband, and we both found it incredibly useful and inspirational.
review 2: It's clear that the author has a personal relationship with the Lord which makes this book and the prayers she's included so powerful. Although I did find myself worrying more about my daughters future as I read along, I was comforted with knowing that I could release those worries through prayer. I also found myself praying some of the prayers over myself (how can I pour into my children what I don't have, right?) This is a great weapon in your spiritual warfare arsenal and I highly recommend it. less
