review 1: Um livro curto mas bem significativo, especialmente pelo autor e sua trajetória de vida. Vivemos em um tempo em que é necessário se indignar, e o autor nos convida a escolher uma causa, se engajar e lutar por ela, mas não precisamos (e nem devemos) saber tudo. A urgência por lutas agora nos transformou em especialistas de quase tudo. Aos 93 anos Hessel nos convida a CRIAR e não a falar sem propriedade, a escolher lados dicotomizando causas e diminuindo aqueles que querem apenas criar. A importância política do processo criativo foi o que mais me deixou pensativa. Pensando dessa forma, aquilo que faço e divulgo pode fazer parte de uma revolução. "Criar é resistir, resistir é criar". Excelente leitura de domingo.

It inspired the Indignado movement in Spain in 2011, which led to the Occupy London and Wall Street protests in 2012.Hessel wrote it in 2010 aged 93. He fought in the French Resistance, survived Nazi concentration camps, and drafted and signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He refers to the UDHR in condemning the all-too common attacks on welfare and civic democracy today.It is a lie that we can no longer fund National Health Service/welfare societies, he says. There was far less wealth in the UK, France, Germany (etc.) when these countries built the NHS and welfare, than there is now. The problem today is wealth distribution and the lies promulgated by those who stand to gain privately, without thinking of the future. less
