review 1: Reviewed by AubreyBook provided by NetGalley for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookI have read every single Fool’s Gold novel as soon as they came out. I adored Just One Kiss and was not disappointed in the latest addition to Fool’s Gold series. We meet Patience a single mother who hasn’t dated since her divorce. She does not know that her heart was taken by Justice, 15 years ago until he returns to town.Justice is the tough guy who can’t get over the fact his father was a hateful and ruthless killer. He is strong and caring. The fact that he is caring is a character trait that he has to get used to to.All the characters in Susan Mallery’s fictional town are very nice and wholesome. I’m always jealous of the friendships they women share and ho... morew helpful the town is. The town always seems like a town from the past where the neighbors look out for each other.I love how Mallery threw in a bit of suspense at the end. I felt sorry for Justice with all his internal conflict. I hoped he came to his senses in the end. I loved how intense the passion and the love Patience and Justice had for each other. Their love scenes were very hot. I cannot wait for the next novel!
review 2: This was my first visit to Fool's Gold. What I found was a well-written story about highly likeable characters. Patience and Justice were best friends in high school. Just when Patience was ready for that first kiss, Justice mysteriously disappeared from town. He returns fifteen years later, a man with a dark past, ready to open a new business. But is he ready to open his heart to the small town charm of Fool's Gold, and more importantly, to Patience, now a divorced single mother? Like everyone else that visits the own, he is willing to stick around to give it a shot. We are also introduced to many other potential couples that I look forward to seeing in other books. This can be read as a stand alone but I am anxious to look into Susan Mallery's previous books to learn more about the Fool's Gold populace. less
