review 1: What a great story! When Miranda and Andrew were young, they loved each other, but Miranda's parents had a different marriage in mind for her. Today women mostly marry who they please, but 200 years ago a girl had far less choice. Miranda married the Viscount her parents favored. She was a good wife, but she never forgot Andrew. When she found herself a childless widow, she decided to approach Andrew with her Indecent Proposal. She wants a child. She also wants a chance to be with the man she once loved. And still loves, as the reader learns. At first I didn't care very much for Andrew, but as the story progresses, his attitude changes and my reaction to him warmed. The writing flowed smoothly, and the dialogue was very well done. If you enjoy historical romances that lea... moreve the couple behind closed doors (that is to say, you enjoy reading a well written love scene) I think you'll like this one.
review 2: Hmmm…widowed and left childless. Still thinking about the one that got away. Actually did something about it (though by deceptive means). Man from past accepts indecent proposal. Both thoroughly enjoy it. I’d like to think I would have the gumption to do the same but probably not. Miranda did something about the one great big regret she had in her life, she did it without hurting anyone but herself. Andrew thought he was getting back at her for refusing his suit from long ago while enjoying the process. A short but thoroughly enjoyable read about Miranda and Andrews journey to getting the happy ending they always wanted. Hope James Hathaway’s story isn’t far behind. less
