review 1: Two kids find themselves in between the real world and the imaginary world when they happen upon a vet hospital that treats legendary creatures as patients prepped for surgery, though the doctors are kinda nice. The head doctor's assist is a ravishing Asian woman with glittery fairy dust in her hair and a need to keep secrets, chief of them being that no one knows the existence of werewolves, Loch Ness Monsters, Bigfoots, etc. Then a sasquatch/Bigfoot with a King Kong-like appetite for chocolate breaks away from the ER, and our two kid heroes have to track the Big Ape down! It's silly and fun, but I do have questions on the story as a whole. The ending has the ravishing, raven-haired Asian beauty Dr. Woo (already the name sounds too uber-sexy for a kids' book) letting the ... morekids go free upon knowing the kids have seen what has happened, with one caveat: the kids must be apprenticed...by HER! Whoa! Let's face it, it's kids' literature, not quite Fifty Shades of Gray's Anatomy, but not too may nurse assists have rockin do's with fairy glitter for radiant color. Or have the bodily dimensions of, say, Maggie Q. Approach with caution, and, yeah, have fun.
review 2: Genre: modern fantasyAnnotation: 10 year old Ben has an interesting summer while he and a friend works at this mysterious vet hospital when his family's cat brings home a baby dragon.
