review 1: I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book. It is an awesome read. I know I teared up at the end a couple times. Jacksin, "Sin", is a grieving father. I think any parent would feel like he did, if they thought the same thing happened to their child, and that it could have been prevented. I wouldn't take it as far as he did, but I could understand where he was coming from. I would want to kill the bastard too. Emily, is the daughter of the surgeon, that didn't save Jacksin's daughter. What better way to get back at the doctor, than by taking away his daughter too. So that he would know what it feels like. I may not have known what to expect, but this book went beyond just meeting my expectations. I loved not knowing how it was going to end, it ... morekept me on the edge of my seat.
review 2: I fell in love with the shattered pieces of a man. A man whose only focus was to correct the wrong that was done to him in the only way he knew how. He drew me into the darkness and I followed without hesitation or fear. It was his darkness that brought me to my knees. It was the title that caught my attention. It was the author’s name that held it. Having read all of Tabatha Vargo’s books I knew without a doubt that I would buy this book without knowing anything about it. Having the addition of Melissa Andrea was an added bonus as I was going to experience her writing for the first time.Needless to say I adored this book. I reveled in the darkness and read with breathless anticipation of what was to come.Character development was incredible. Not only was I treated to a visual description of all of the characters in this book I bled into the emotional aspects of the characters. Creative and vivid descriptions of the places this story takes us to were perfect.The storyline was unique into its own which I adored. The authors have taken a genre that is gaining in popularity and put such a different spin on it that I was actually smiling at the creativity and the path I was lead down.I was drawn in from word one. The intensity of the words that held such heartbreak and emotion drew me in shutting out anything and everything around me. The characters emotions were effortlessly transfer into my mind and soul as I read creating an instant and solid connection.The words themselves held magic creating a perfect picture in my mind of every room, smell and texture. I was transported into the darkness and I reveled and feared it at the same time.The storyline held many surprises which I loved. Just when I thought I had figured out what would happen next the authors taunted and played with my mind by twisting the plot and proving me wrong.Suspense, intrigue and mystery were well played out within the storyline. Heartbreak, loss, confusion, hatred, love, hope and fear are just a few emotions that travel throughout your mind while reading.I loved the intrigue and suspense of the story. With each twist and turn I found myself with feelings of surprise, longing, compassion and hope. I was lead into the darkness and reveled in it. I held hope for the light and was delighted when it seemed to slither through the cracks and then retreat within the blink of any eye.The intensity of every relationship within this story was written to perfection. Each relationship was a story within itself. Intertwine these relationships and that leaves us with a brilliant, intriguing, thought provoking story.Wrapped within the darkness is a story of hope and love. A story of learning to learning to let go. Letting go of the past and release the bitter taste of hate. This is a story of truths and secrets. It is also a story of dreams, desires, fairytales and the ability to have them come to life. less
