review 1: Although this book showed great promise I was distracted by the number of typos and the implausibility of certain actions of some of the main characters. This book would be vastly improved by some serious editing and proof-reading. For example all the way through the book one character is a Detective Sergeant but then near the end of the book is referred to as an Inspector. Very distracting between these careless mistakes and typos.
review 2: 2d book by this author - continuing the characters of the 1st (The Surrogate). Not quite as compelling - but still enough tension and mystery to hold my interest. Think the author works hard to make the "villan" in her books somewhat tragic -- especially in the 1st book. Just an 'okay' regular thriller. No more no less.
