review 1: Having read both The Creeper which I thought was excellent and The Surrogate I pre-ordered Cage of Bones. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed.I found the premise to the whole crime completely unbelievable. The characters of the police in thee Surrogate drew me into the story but even they felt a little flat in this book. This is despite DI Philip Brennan's back story being explored in more depth.The story itself has plenty of blood and guts in it, a little too much for my liking, so if you are prepared to suspend belief and enjoy a fast paced story this may be the one for you.
review 2: Everything you want in a thriller / mystery. I couldn't put it down, the characters were pretty well written (I'll have to read the previous books to get their backstory), lots ... moreof twists, short, snappy chapters, and a wee bit creepy (scarecrow mask on the killer named The Gardner? Just a wee bit creepy). It was fun! I mean, you know, if you like serial killers, murder and mayhem, gore and such. I do! less
