review 1: If you'd have told me when I first started reading this book that I'd end up giving it 3 stars, I would have thought you were mad, or that I'd done so under duress. Whilst I cannot vouch for your sanity, I can assure you that I am writing this of my own free will. There are many aspects of this book that I don't like. The sentence structure is a little off, the behaviour of the police at points seems unlikely, the descriptions of Colchester are unnecessarily detailed for anyone who doesn't actually know the town (listing street names means nothing unless you know the streets), and in places it seems as though it hasn't been proof read (e.g. carp park?).The Creeper isn't great literature, but it is a good story with a fast pace, which, despite my aforementioned dislikes, I e... morenjoyed.
review 2: Some spoilers... This book is brilliant! If you haven't already you NEED to read it! Phil is a seasoned cop working the case of a unidentified woman found murdered and mutilated on a boat in the harbour. He and his colleagues suspect that this woman is a woman named Julie who has been missing for some time. As they begin to investigate the death the plot thickens and twists in a way that only a fantastic storyteller can produce. Phil's partner and daughter do a bunk leaving him distracted his eye not on the ball whilst meanwhile others who are out to get him spin a dangerous web that may just bring the case crashing down around their ears. As more women begin to go missing and the investigation becomes internally sabotaged only Phil, his partner, and his colleagues Mickey and Anni can solve the mystery that surrounds them and the answer may be closer to home than they think less
