review 1: A breath of fresh air in my reading. I'm usually knee deep in the British countryside or a London home. It's nice to visit Delhi and the unusual cases of Mr. Puri. Such wonderful descriptions not just of India or the people, but the food! I was salivating most of the way through the book! Mr. Puri is never far from his next meal and it always sounds amazing! Helpful glossary in the back for the smattering of Hindi phrases and cultural slang. Most wonderful, na?
review 2: Vish Puri, P. I is called to investigate when Dr. Suresh Jha appears to be murdered by the goddess Kali who appears out of thin air in the middle of the doctor’s morning laughter yoga session.I enjoyed this much better than the first in the series. What made this book a complete hoot was Pur
... morei’s “mummi-ji” who also got involved in solving crime. There was a few too many storylines going on but I still enjoyed it overall. less

Just amazing. It reminded me of the Montalbano's saga, but in an Indian way. Highly recommended!

Clever mystery writing but ultimately annoying with its fixation on food and dialects.

One of my best finding of the year. Fun, cosmopolitan and smart.
