review 1: This was an amazing book! I am not sure what the age level is for this novel, but I am guessing fairly young adult. What set this story apart from others in this category is the fact that author Teri Hall wrote with adult themes and language. I don't mean that anything was inappropriate, just that things were not made simpler just because of reasons. Heroine Rachel was a smart brave girl and, I at least thought, Hall wrote exactly as Rachel would understand. Great story, good book. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
review 2: This is an amazing story of life after the war. A line, a border, has been built to keep out the enemy and in the process when the bombs are dropped some of the citizens of the U.S. have been separated to the wrong side of the
... moreborder now known as "Away." Rachel and her mom, Vivian, live right next to the Line on The Property owned by Ms. Moore! What happens when Rachel's curiosity in attempting to cross The Line is full of adventure, danger, and selflessness. I really enjoyed this book. less

Very obviously written for a young audience but not too bad of a read.
