review 1: Nice novel by Tess Gerritsen, another Rizzoli & Isles story. The author's Chinese background and the extensive research she must have done, made the story quite credible. She gives her readers a great introduction in the Chinese culture and legends, especially the martial arts activities. While reading the story, I found this one was balancing on the grey zone between reality and fantasy, but everything fits together in the end. I would have given this book five stars, except there were a bit too much Bruce Lee flavours in the plot. And as usual I miss the voice of the victim(s) in the stories. Detective Rizzoli is usually the main character, Maura Isles this time only appeared like in a guest role once in a while and the main focus was on the chase of the pe... morerpetrator...
review 2: This one had me reading non-stop and i could not wait to find out the truth behind everything. Maybe I read a little too fast and missed some clues. Could somebody who has read and COMPLETELY gets everything in this book please explain to me these questions:1. What do the monkey hairs have to do with anything? I'm pretty sure Iris Fang killed the two hitmen with her sword, but whhat's with the monkey talk??2. The red phoenix case was staged to look like murder-suicide by Wu Weimin, who only had ONE bullet wound in his head. How did Patrick or Mark manage to kill him first and then put the bullet in his head without leaving any other trace of wound on Wu? 3. This isnt really a question but rather just a comment. It feels a bit far fetched that a venture capitalist is capable of getting wind so fast and getting rid of his threats. Patrick Dion sounds more like the Irish Mob than the Irish Mob. less
