review 1: I was lucky enough to pick up a signed copy of this book, totally accidental, but it was a great start to a new Tess Gerritsen.Gerritson is a favorite of mine, I read all her books. First of all though I had some disappointment in the fact the the hard cover sleeve was advertising that the characters in this book are the ones on the tv show. I suppose it's all about advertising but really on a hard cover?The story was Great as expected, the lady cop Rizzoli and the medical examiner Isles are on a fresh case that goes back 6 years to a safari in Botswana. There is a lot of information on Africa and wild cats in the book. It was if I travelled there myself. It was scary, exciting horrible and wonderful all at the same time.Being that these two are in a series of books as wel... morel as on tv (I haven't watched) they have a history and small things come up that lead us to knowing there will be additional books with them. You can start with this book if you haven't read any of the others.
review 2: A good mystery/thriller to start the year. The story is split between the story of Millie and how she survived a safari trip in Botswana that went horribly wrong and a grizzly murder of a taxidermist that Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles must solve. At times, the graphic descriptions of the bodies and autopsy were a little over the top. Millie's story of the safari and her survival was the stronger of the two stories. less
