review 1: A competent thriller/murder mystery. An enjoyable, fast-paced read. But ... this is the kind of book I'll probably forget completely in a month or two. I still remember Gerritsen's early novels, especially "Gravity", which were full of intriguing medical and scientific ideas that were integral parts of the plot. I wish she'd take a break from the Rizzoli & Isles formula and get back to the kind of inventive and original writing that she was so good at.
review 2: There is always a sense of the mystic involved with a Rozzoli and Isles story. This story leans heavy on the mystic part. If you're expecting the TV series, well you might recognize the two women ,but the depth and character goes way beyond TV. I enjoy both versions, and might wait to get to the next book because, for now, its the only one that I havent read in the series. less
