review 1: The hunger pains is a parody of the hunger games, and I honestly didn't like it at all! It's about Kantkiss neverclean who is a 17 year old who volunteered as tribute to take her sisters place on the hunger games. But, in this book, she gets volunteered by an older woman named slimey sue. She volunteered Kantkiss, to get revenge on her. This book was about her fighting in the hunger games, and the ending was quite surprising! I thought this book was a little "annoying". I didn't like this book, because it wasn't intriguing, it was boring. I also found that the vocabulary used was a little strange. I read this book, because my sister gave it to me, she bought it at Coles bookstore for 15.00. I would recommend this book to any one who likes dystopian fiction, or a humor bas... moreed books. After reading this book, I wouldn't read another one of the Harvard lampoons books!
review 2: "The Hunger Pains" should actually be called "The Brain Pain," because after I read this book, my brain hurt from the stupidity. Luckily, I received this book for free. I'd be more upset if I had paid for it. This "parody" is too smarmy and dumb to be considered a parody. The authors are so proud of their jokes and their witticisms that it is almost sickening. It was really, really, really, REALLY hard for me to read this because it was just so bad. I really wanted to stop... but I stuck it out for some reason. Sometimes life is full of regrets. Le sigh. less
