review 1: A marvellous guide to dressmaking for beginners. I've been following Tilly's blog for a while, so was super excited when I heard she was releasing a book. Great patterns too - I've just finished making the Delphine Skirt, which is adorable! The patterns are printed on sturdy paper, which makes them really easy to trace. Written in the same voice as her blog, this gives step-by-step instructions for the fundamentals of dressmaking and also includes practical advice on things like fabrics, sewing shops and designing your own wardrobe.

Not only does it succeed on a style front but it also delivers amazingly sim... moreple looking tutorials which even a novice like me could be confident to try without -too much- failure. Along with the Great British Sewing Bee book the patterns cover patterns that can be customised and developed the more confident your sewing gets. less
