review 1: I wanted to LOVE this story as much as everyone else (I hate when I'm in the minority) but I didn't love it...I LIKED it. I really enjoyed the writing, but to me there was wayyyyy too much internal dialogue...like pages and pages of Bear rambling and I wanted to scream at him to just say something out loud! The main thing about M/M I like is there is no whiny h....except in this case that is exactly the way Bear acted. I felt like for the majority of the story I witnessed Bear playing the martyr, trying to convince himself he wasn't actually gay and to me he actually seemed much younger than 21 years old. BUT... Tyson saved the story for me! He was so intelligent and funny and strong (much stronger emotionally than even what Bear was.) I felt like Ty was the adult most o... moref the time. The story was also really funny! I love how Bear kept referring to the Kid as an "ecoterrorist in training". I loved the family dynamic of the characters and how they all pulled together when needed. Overall, an enjoyable read and I would love to read more from this author.
review 2: Guh. Just...guh. I actually read this, "Who we are" and "The Art of Breathing" in one go over about four days and omg GUH!I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. For real. I think I cried more than I laughed though as these books are certainly tear-jerkers. Klune's ability to capture and portray some of the finer feelings that most people can't even identify in themselves is what ripped at me the most. I'm not very good at writing reviews and this one has so many that say it far better than I could, I just needed to get the "Guhs" out. What a spectacular writer. less
