review 1: I am not really sure how to rate this book. I gave it 3 stars only for personal reasons. Not because it was a bad book. I had an intense love/hate relationship with this book. I had to read it in starts and stops. I think Tosca is a good writer. Great in fact. But there were a few things in this particular book I just didn't like. It made me think, too much in places and rubbed me the wrong way in others. And just how she approached Kaynes relationship with Havah was uncomfortable to me. And somehow Adam seemed too overly distant and I uncaring. Even though she gave him a few redeeming moments of tenderness. Over all it was a good book, very well written. It made me stop think of a lot of things and I am glad I read it. It really made me stop and think about a new perspect... moreive of the first days of the world.
review 2: This was the first book I have ever read by Tosca Lee, and I have to say she is a fantastic writer. The point of view is very clear and well written, the characters are rich and well developed. This story held my attention because I have always wanted to know more about what happened to Adam and Eve after the fall. I know this is Tosca Lee's fictional account, but it is obvious that she did extensive research and put a great deal of thought into it. It was incredibly believable. It made sense based on what I can see and experience about life on earth in the present time.I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to imagine what Adam and Eve's lives were like after the fall, or to anyone who simply loves historical, Biblically-based fiction. And, I must say, I am highly likely to read more of Tosca Lee's works. less
