review 1: Set in 1804 England the war of spies is going strong between England and France. Sebastian Danvers, Lord of Somerton head of the Nexus group of spies is forced to take a vacation on his country estate. The newly widowed Catherine Ashcroft his neighbor has question regarding her husbands death for Sebastian. But can he trust her with the answers? The author does an excellent job of building the tension. Loved it.
review 2: Very enjoyable. Sophie was a charming precocious girl, Sebastian was an effective (if somewhat unmemorable) hero, and Catherine balanced practicality and heart well. Reading this made me more interested in others in this series. Now I have to go back a read Helsford and Cora's tale. Oh, and is it wrong that I'm hoping Tracey will fastforward a... more decade or so for Sophie's story? I really want her to end up with Teddy. less
