review 1: I am not sure why I completed this book. This book was very depressing in how accurate the treatment of mental patients is, it seems so unfathomable yet that is pretty close to how the regulation mandate that they are treated. The story is otherwise about nothing and worse than that group psychosis apparently can alter the physical being of a person and create injuries. This is not a book I would recommend for anyone except potential medical professionals looking to work with the mentally ill.
review 2: An amusing and empathetic book about a guy who accidentally ends up in a mental hospital, where he forms an alliance with his fellow patients to battle a demon-like apparition that is terrorizing the place. It is a little thin, story-wise, and lacks the existential depth and sheer weirdness of "Big Machine." less
