review 1: Not a great work of literature for sure, but this is an amusing story about what occurs when a rich English widow endeavors to obtain a marriage proposal from the Prince of "whatever country it is" by hiring a new family and attempting to give him the English Christmas he desires. Her efforts are complicated by many events, not the least of which is the return to the area of the man she loved, but did not marry many years before.
review 2: In some way this was the usual romance novel. There was the usual conflict between the main characters, which they eventually overcome, and are reunited. However, in the course of the book many interesting events occur, which makes the romance something of a secondary story at times. I found the overall plot fun and entert... moreaining. There were twists and turns that I did not expect. It was really an entertaining book for Christmas. less
