review 1: Oh man. I really wanted to like this book. I really did. But I never really connected with Teddy or Jackson (where's Lucy's story? She's got some spunk) like I did with them in previous books (at least with Teddy). And the ending was... weird. What was the point? I'm not sure why I couldn't give this two stars. Maybe residual Victoria-Alexander-feels. Or maybe I did like it more than my initial paragraph would indicate, but it really was more like a two-and-a-half star book for me.Lady Theodosia Winslow, Teddy, is a wedding planner. While she and her mother present it as a sort of hobby, the truth is, her father left them in a bit of a financial disaster. Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, on the other hand, has just discovered that he has a father. His mother sort of... taci... moretly let it be assumed that the man was dead. Now that it's discovered to be untrue, Jackson is anxious to learn more about the man. So he travels to England and meets Theo.Lots of witty dialogue, just not a lot of action. I definitely won't stop reading Alexander, but I would definitely skip this book in favor of the others in the series.
review 2: . .Both Lady Theodosia “Teddy” Winslow and Jackson Quincy Graham Channing are people who plan and follow through. At least until they plan and do not. That fact is at the heart of the plot in The Shocking Secret of a Guest at the Wedding. It is a fun romp to follow both Teddy and Jack. Teddy’s life changed with the death of her Father and Jack’s changes when he finds his Father is not dead but very much alive. For Jack that means his whole life plan changes. For Teddy it meant a new plan for her life. The writing is filled with humor. The characters are fun. (My favorite is Lucy. I really hope she gets her own story.) There is romance through out the book and not just for the two main characters. Sex is at a minimum. I did have to skim thought too many pages. All in all the book is a great addition to the Millworth Manor series. less

This was a nice clean read until a romantic encounter near the end. This could have been omitted.
