review 1: What a thoroughly charming book! The Secret Intensity of Everyday Life ... the title is really what the heart of the book is about. And Nicholson captures the secret and intense moments just right ... the moments of fear, desire, despair, joy, revelation, redemption, reconciliation ... and in the authentic voices of a wonderful cast of characters out of real life. Then he somehow pulls it all together for each and every one of them in a way that leaves you ending the read with an enormous smile in your heart. Bravo!

... moreeady know something about, but it was the first time I even met the characters. He jumps from current time to past without a hint, so about 2-3 paragraphs in you realize it and have to go back and reread it. I read the reviews and the summary, but I really didn't even want to finish the book. Worst of all, I recommended as a "Book Club" read, and all of us had to finish it. Looking forward to the bashing! less
