Ray Elkins Mystery
review 1: I'm a Michigander and I'm always partial to books set in Michigan. Sheriff Elkins investigates the murder of a young private school teacher & friend. The book isn't very long. The investigation centers around the school. The politics, quirky teachers & students. Sheriff Elkins' sophisticated palate & friendships are explored. Along the way, there's just enough action to keep it from being too talky. There was an unnecessary plot twist that added nothing. It didn't move the story and seemed pointless. I liked the book and would read more by this author.
review 2: It's a tranquil October morning in northwest lower Michigan, a rural paradise of cherry orchards, blue lakes, and sandy shorelines. The serenity of the day -- and the season -- is shattered when an

This was a good book. It was lacking something but I'm not sure what. But it was good.
