review 1: Precious Ramotswe finally gets to meet her idol and mentor, Clovis Anderson, and they become fast friends when he comes to Botswana for a visit to a friend and visits her office. Precious and Grace jump at the opportunity to learn from the master. They have several cases: Her friend Mma Potokwane, the headmistress at the local orphanage, has been dismissed and the reasons are very suspect. Fanwell, the apprentice in JLB Matakoni's garage, has been arrested for having stolen goods. The newly married Grace and her husband, Phuti, are building a new house. All of these things seems small but add up to trouble and having Clovis on hand is very useful. This is a good installment of a wonderful series.
review 2: Another slam dunk in this series that I adore so m
... moreuch. Even after 13 books in this series, I look forward to learning more about the beloved characters McCall Smith has created. These books are FANTASTICALLY narrated by Lisette Lecat, giving each character even more depth than I think might be found if reading the books in print. I always look forward to what is next in the lives of these characters, find myself smiling throughout, and coming away with wonderful little nuggets of wisdom and philosophy. less

I loved it! But where was Mr. Polopetsi? He would have some opinions about Fanwell's legal trouble.
