review 1: The writing of these books is very different for me, you need to read behind the lines. Don't judge until you have walked in the shoes of the person you are judging. A young girl loses her whole family to a tragedy, which a whole city has suffered from a fire storm, will she or anybody ever exist again? Can she find herself in the depression and darkness she feels? What about everyone else who has lost someone too, so she begins to write everyone's story.
review 2: Two novellas tucked into one book. "Green Angel" is lyrical and kind of lovely. Green must learn to go on after a heartbreaking tragedy. She learns to live and let go. The second, "Green Witch," continues the story but feels forced and trite. Whereas the first was a matter of self-examination and ... morelearning to live and love yourself, the second novella does nothing but prove that Green has learned nothing and must have a man to complete her life. The introspection and self-reliance of the first book is lost for me. less
