review 1: 2.5 StarsDennis is a coyote shifter searching for his (maybe) feral sister. KC is a fox shifter sheriff who is helping Dennis. This one had some action: hunting down a missing (possibly psycho) sister, surviving a plane crash, and putting the kibash on Lou beating up Dennis. This series is pretty formulaic, which is okay. But, again, the story is so underdeveloped that I'm left feeling shortchanged. Plus, some of the tendrils of the story are unresolved. What happened with Dennis' sister's son? And, I thought KC was going to apologize to Lou and James?Bottom line: ugh.
review 2: I really like this series, I like the idea of the different types of shifters mating, and since it is a series, you get a glimpse of each character then it gets expanded in "their" book... more.From what I've read, sometimes fans would prefer Amber's books to be longer, and I'll admit there are some that I like the characters so much I'd have no problem reading more about them, but at the same time, sometimes it's nice to have a short read where you can connect with the characters and have an adventure with them and many of Amber's books are perfect for that!Looking forward to starting Talan's Treasure..... less
