review 1: This was a quick and fluffy read. Had the obvious Happy Ever After at the end. I really wish there was more depth to it. I would like to have experienced more than just the relationship part. For example, when they go out and recruit, or when they go out to protect and such. Those things are totally glossed over and you're left with just the fluff. Maybe the other books in the series are more in-depth? This is the first one I read because I'm a sucker for the GFY titles. It's predominantly a MM vampire romance novel. This one also had MF and MFM scenes, but weren't in very much detail. There were other fantasy type beings in it, but they play a small role.
review 2: Do not “judge a book by its cover“ or in this case “ by its name.“ We who hav
... moree been reviewing Amy Lane and her Greenshill stories for years, all those followers know what I mean when I say “This is one terrific view of what was happening in the lives of two popular residents in Our Little Goddess Series” Bravo !I just love when I get the scoop to fill readers in on a background story of a book I am reviewing. So, we who keep up with Amy Lanes Little Goddess Series were asked by Amy to nominate members of Greenshill whom they wish to learn more about, and she would pick one nominee and write their story. Marcus and Phillips relationship was the winner!Marcus and Phillip were big players in the main stories, but much of their life was pretty much behind the scenes. They began with a small role in Vulnerable and we learn more about them in Wounded when Cory is healing and they helped her establish a connection to the Vampires of the Kiss that Adrian bequeathed to her upon his untimely death. In Rampant we start to see how deeply their relationship is growing. In I love you, Asshole we see it all. The challenge to the writer is keeping her timeline true and then of course the writing, editing and angst of it all. The easy part was mine; it was reading this sexy, wonderful, frustrating, funny, story of how this came to be. Marcus , is a school teacher. The story opens during a car accident where Marcus is turned by Adrian at the scene. Evidently, Marcus was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is brought to Greenshill to heal and be mentored as a vampire by a vampire. One of the funniest lines in this story was from the pompus stockbroker Philip saying, “ I was so surprised that the love of my life would have pecs” This coming from two men who are constantly sleeping with women, even though they are constantly sleeping with each other. For Amy Lanes contemporary fans, this Fantasyland of Cory, Green, Bracken and Adrian, she has created is as real to us as Deacon and Carrick or Xander and Christian, or Mikhail and Shane. We are a whole set of avid followers chomping at the bit for any smidge of story she can send our way in-between the novels she writes for all of us. Whim was a charming spin-off, introducing him as Brackens brother. Guarding the Vampires Ghost gave us our beloved Adrian and what he was up to or down to in heaven. Lastly we have been keeping up with the Jack and Teague and Katy mini-series of six novellas, another family on Greens Hill. For me, they are my family. I hope Ms Lanes contemporary readers pick up one of the Greenshill stories and want to gather the entire set up and join us in this world as well…There is enough action, sex, love angst and humor to share with you. I just love it all….Review by Gloria LakritzSenior ReviewerReview Chairperson for the Paranormal Romance Guild less

I do not think it entirely fair that Amy Lane can do this to me. But I'll continue to enjoy it.
