review 1: This is a fantastic book! And no, I'm not surprised. Andrew Grey writes consistently good books. But I really love this series, and this is a great addition. So I have a Marine in my family, and I have had issues with the accuracy of stories that feature a Marine in them in the past. I am happy to say I had no issues with this story! My annoying little pet peeves were not there at all! Thank you Andrew!I loved Brick and Cody, they are a fantastic match for one another. Eli and Geoff knew what they were doing when they convinced Brick to take on Cody. Brick was a lonely man that needed someone to care for, and he got that with Cody. And Prince! Cody was just damaged enough to make him an interesting character, but not so damaged to feel broken to the point of no redemption. ... moreHe goes through a nice transition, as does Brick. And they both need each other so badly. This book has a great plot, great characters, a nice peek at the farm and it's residence, and a great ending. A bit more sex would have been nice, what there was, was very sweet, but I like a little more nookie in my books! A minor issue though... I loved the book!
review 2: Let me start by saying that Patience is both like and utterly unlike anything else in the series. Love Means… Patience is the story of Cody, a vet with such severe PTSD that he lives in an ongoing series of flashbacks, and Brick, also a Marine discharged for DADT. These two men come together thanks to both the scene below and our favorite love of the series, Eli!I won’t get into much of the story, as it’s true a story you have to read to understand and appreciate all it offers the reader. However, I will say that the way Mr. Grey depicts PTSD in each man is superbly written. I am an ex-Army wife and can attest to how real this story is and can be, and how often our vets (those that serve with pride!) return to families that reject them and a system that doesn’t care. That’s a lot of the issue for both men as neither received the benefits or assistance each needed to “get over” the trauma being in war causes.I can’t imagine how much research Andrew put into this story, but it’s so vivid you truly feel as though you were right there with Cody and Brick as they find their way through love, healing, and a possible murder. If you love romance, Andrew’s wonderful style of storytelling and passion, and a bit of military in your story, then Love Means… Patience is a Must Read! less
