review 1: I really like this series but I couldn't feel the warmth with Stone and Preston. They just didn't strike me in any way near as well-matched as the other couples in this series did. Part of it may have been the fact that there were numerous typos and some incorrect use of character names in this one. This was totally unexpected as I've come to admire the fact that this author's books just don't suffer from the typos I see in other books. And darn, those things just pull me out of a story. Maybe it was Stone's youth and immaturity that I found unappealing, or Preston's initial abrasive attitude, and the two were more like oil and water and didn't have chemistry. I just don't know, but for some reason they aren't endearing to me. That being said, I still liked the story ... moreand all of the secondary characters, and I love the series overall, so I'm definitely going to continue with it.
review 2: I love Laughton Farms. No, I love the wonderful men who live and work at the farm: Geoff and Eli, Joey and Robbie, and our new friends from this book Stone and Preston. The farm is a place I'd like to live at, the family formed by these men is a family I'd like to be a part of. The feel of love and support is unbelievable. It's Geoff and Eli who do this, who have so much love and caring to share. And from them it spreads. People who have been loved and supported will learn to do so for others.Book 1 Love Means No Shame is Geoff and Eli's book.Book 2 Love Means No Boundaries is Joey and Robbie's book.Book 3 Love Means Freedom is Stone and Preston's book. But the most important book is Book 0.5 Love Means Courage, which takes us back to the 80s and shows how Geoff's Father, Cliff, and Len, who becomes Geoff's Dad, fall in love and become a family, and start to raise Geoff together. I read this book first, and I'd recommend it to be read first. Cliff and Len were wonderful men, who raised a wonderful son. I might make myself laughable, but I love these three men.The series is not without faults, and I stopped reading after Book 4 Love Means No Fear, which in my opinion wasn't as good as the earlier books. But I truly love books 0.5-3. The only reason I haven't re-read Love Means Courage and Love Means No Shame is I just can't...can't go back there. I have re-read Love Means No Boundaries, but the book I always go back to is this book, Love Means Freedom. less
