review 1: This book is really quirky, and that's part of its charm. The beginning is wonderful, and it really drew me in to the world of the book. Everyone in the bank gives the robber something, and I looked for metaphorical significance to what they gave compared to what supernatural occurrence happened to them.Stacey's story is the primary tale in the book. After giving up her calculator, she starts shrinking--a metaphor for how less and less connected she is with her husband. GREAT STUFF!What stops me from giving this book 5 stars is the other stories. Some of them are handled very well (the woman whose lion tattoo comes to life and the detective). Others I want to know more about (the candy lady and the husband who turns into a snowman). And others, I just didn't get. This concep... moret could have been extremely effective as a collection of interwoven short stories. But still, a fun read!
review 2: I read this one because it was recommended by Carrie Hope Fletcher, one of my favourite people in existence. My first reaction: PRETTY BOOK IS PRETTY! A cute little hardcover with beautiful illustrations and a gorgeous cover and only 88 pages long and so cute.As for the content, I’m a little torn. The book was quite surreal, which was cool, although some parts were… a little ominous maybe? Carrie made it sound like a sweet little story about this poor lady who starts shrinking, but there are other stories that tie in with Stacey’s. Stacey is one of 13 people robbed in a bank, but instead of having money stolen each person has an item of sentimental value taken from them. After the incident, strange things happen to each of the victims. Some not so bad (i.e. a man’s baby starts pooping cash) and some quite inconvenient (i.e. a woman’s lion tattoo comes to life and starts chasing her all over town). Some of the scenarios rather creeped me out but on top of this, also, was the fact the book is written from the wife’s husband’s point of view. This was probably my biggest problem because I kept catching myself getting confused when the husband narrated and I thought it was the wife… I understand this was probably my own fault, but it did slow me down at times figuring out who was doing or saying what.Despite my beef with a few elements of the main body of the book, I loved the ending. Warm, fuzzy feelings abundant! I’ll leave this one at a safe 3 ½ stars. less

very dream like and a bit mad. A good read but not something I would usually go for.

A fun, enjoyable little novel set a few blocks from where I live in Toronto

Well, that was weird. And yet oddly enjoyable.
