review 1: The story was mostly okay, though it didn't really pick up till the last third or so. I wish I'd known exactly when this was taking place, because it definitely isn't current, but it's never specified. ... moret grabbed it off the shelf and said that it was what his class was choosing. I say now, thank you, Enrique. I enjoyed this story of family and fitting in very much. Stark (Stick) was such a likable, brave young man. The relationship between he and his brother kept me rooting for both of them through all of their hard times. And...EVERYONE DESERVES AN AUNT DAHLIA! In this crazy world drowning with people's petty opinions, it is refreshing to witness truly unconditional love- especially where children are concerned. less
