review 1: I could barely put this book down. However, I could see it as a B rated horror movie right off the bat- which is also why I enjoyed it. Lol the ending was abrupt and I didn't think it would end that way. I'm not sure if that means there will be more, the author is leaving the ending up to the reader, or the implications at the end are just to point the reader to the true ending. And maybe that last one is the case- just to make people even more uneasy one last time. Either way it is a book worth reading!
review 2: The Shuddering was engaging and held my attention throughout because the plot and the situation were tense and I wanted to know what happened. However, it is far from a creative idea or plot and at times it reminds me of a bad science fiction movie on
... more the science fiction channel where people make silly decisions in the face of a crisis. The most annoying thing about this book though is the author's excessive use of the word "impossible" when describing the monster (his teeth were impossibly sharp, his hands were impossibly long). Impossibly annoying and impossibly lazy of the impossible author. less

Yikes! Don't ski off the trial! Simple and predictable, but still effective.
