review 1: Andrew has no idea what he's in for when he becomes housemate of his childhood friend whom he hadn't seen in years. Next door live eccentric neighbors who wear 'proper attire' (meaning Sunday best) to do yard work such as mowing the lawn and pruning bushes. His roommate too has become odd, a real weirdo. At 81% I couldn't continue. The eccentric neighbor woman is way beyond eccentric. I really should have given it up much earlier but it was mindless listening (Kindle Unlimited with Narration) as I was working a jigsaw puzzle.
review 2: at 5% done: I am already tired of the Andrew/Drew and Mickey/Mick thing. I had seen other people's reviews commenting on it and initially thought to myself, "what a nit-picky thing to be annoyed by," but it just. keeps. happeni
... moreng. And if I'm this annoyed already, I don't know if I'll be able to finish the book. It would be one thing if An(Drew) was telling the story from first person and flip-flopped between Mick and Mickey, but it's told in third person, so it really makes no sense at all.at 31% done: the story is starting to pick up, but I wish she had not included all of the flashbacks. The present-day storyline is interesting enough; no need to keep breaking it up. The relationship developing between Andrew and Harlow is pretty intoxicating, really.at 100% done: I feel like there should've been so. much. more. More details about Harlow's sexual fantasies. More details about Mickey's involvement. I don't know. it was just missing something. less

This book was just okay. The horror took over and I wanted more character development.

Terrible plot. Terrible writing. No wonder this was free.

Good, but not as anxiety ridden as The Shuddering......
