review 1: I would probably have liked this book even less if I had actually paid money to read it. (I borrowed it for free from the Kindle Lending Library) That said, it was wildly "meh". The characters were all completely unbelievable. The villain was more of a parody of a bad guy and I just could not suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy the story. Now, I have read some dark and twisted stories (and enjoyed them) but this wasn't really dark, it was more like the author decided to throw whatever she thought might be disturbing at the reader just to see what would stick. (Nothing...nothing stuck)
review 2: I have to say, I went into this book expecting a frightening story with a somewhat predictable ending, and I wasn't let down. This book is great at points, and the char
... moreacters are very realistic, but at times it feels like there were details that simply didn't add anything to the story. It was chilling and gripping, so no complaints there, and the neighbors were textbook psychopaths! This was a nice change of pace from what I normally read, which is YA fiction, and the author is truly talented with word use. less

This is a pretty good book. A little slow at times but definitely picks up at the end.
