review 1: Action, adventure, danger and passion too long denied. Camden Rothermere has known Lady Penelope all her life and admired her determination and strength of character - until she refuses his marriage proposal then disappears to Italy.Fast forward ten years and Penelope's oldest brother lays dying in a French port hotel. He charges Cam to find his sister and return her safely to London. Reluctantly, Cam agrees and sets out to track down the only woman he's ever wanted and can't have. Not when he's about to announce his engagement to a paragon who will help him lift the stigma from his family name and be the perfect duchess, unattached and unemotional. Unlike Penelope. There are so many scenes to love: Cam's initial rescue, the storm (what a first kiss!!!), the tumultuous land... moreing, and so on. I love forced time together stories; they strip away masks and make characters confront their deepest feelings and fears. Pen and Cam have a lifetime of caring and years of longing to explore as they work through family and personal issues to find their HEA.Once again, Ms Campbell has created strong characters driven by powerful emotions who clash until they finally acknowledge what we hoped all along; together they can take on the ton and tell them to go jump. Together, they prove the power of love to overcome all obstacles and leave the reader on a wonderful emotional high. This is a wonderful series about a group of men, aristocrats living under a cloud surroundings their births, and the women who love them anyway. Sons of Sin they may be; handsome as sin, definitely! I love each of these stories, but most of all, I love the fabulous storytelling that draws me into their world, to sigh, gasp, and live through the adrenaline rush of each dangerous moment, and each fabulous kiss.
review 2: 3.5This was a good enough story but it was a bit of a disappointment as it lacked the emotional intensity I found in the previous book Seven Nights in a Rouges bed. I was also disappointed to see that the personality show it in the previous books for Camden was not reflected in this book...I mean I was really looking forward to read the story of the cold Camden going down on his knees for love but this book showed a very different personality than the previous one noted. less
