review 1: I am a big Steve Jenkins fan but this is not one of my favorite books. The author used a free verse style - some rhymes and some repetition. But it was the rhythm that didn't quite work for me. It felt awkward when I was reading it aloud. Perhaps I just need to hear the author read it herself and I would get the cadence.Some of the illustrations conveyed great action - like clawing for ants and catching trout. Also I could stare a long time at the mountain and meadow views. Great use of color, texture, and dimension.
review 2: Can you eat like bear？That is a good question. When children were asked this question, they will wonder how bear eat. Then, they are absorbed and read this book for finding the answer. This book goes from April to November, and the... moren adult bears hibernate over the winter and don’t eat food. This book provide meaningful knowledge about what bears eat and how they eat. The bear in the pictures of this book is lovely and simple. It is a good read-aloud book for children. less
